How Are a Firm’s Strategic Motives for Environmental Innovation Impeded? The Negative Influences of Institutional Pressures

In recent years, firms are intensively being asked to build up the capabilities of dealing with environmental issues. While most proactively inspired by their strategic motives for innovations, they also exposed external pressures innovations that institutionally established. This study is an early attempt theoretically examine how firms’ innovation affected institutional issues in a single empirical setting. Based on theory, this suggests two types — regulative and normative pressures— proposes conflicting effects motive activities concerning innovation. addition test interrelated pressures, investigates small medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) differ efforts realize innovation, contrast large companies.
